FLEXIBLE MOULDINGS
DURAFLEX FLEXIBLE TRIM moulding is an easy and economical alternative for half round window and door trimming as well as curved stair wells and other radius situations where wood simply cannot bend. After Duraflex is installed and finished, its appearance is identical to wood products in that same application
PAINTING - A distinct advantage with Duraflex is that primer coats are not necessary and all paints are compatible
STAINING - A heavily pigmented stain is required. Duraflex may not absorb stain as rapidly as some wood and may require additional coats to match
DURAFLEX is usually applied in a single piece, utilizing the continuous grain of the wood, and is flexible enough that it can be adjusted during application, assuring a perfect fit every time. The product is impervious to insects and, once installed, can
NAILING - Nails should be kept 6" apart and 3/8" from any edge along with construction adhesive Predrilling is not necessary when
withstand any harsh environment, including salt air, extreme heat, high humidity, and severe cold without the problems of warping, cracking, and rot that are common to wood products
using #6 or smaller finish nails.
Material is less flexible when installed at temperatures below 55 degrees Fahr - enheit Before installing allow material to reach room temperatures of between 55 - 90 degrees Fahrenheit
ASK ABOUT XXXTRA-FLEX: RECOMMENDED FOR PROFILES 6" OR WIDER, EXTERIOR USE AND TIGHT RADII
ORDERING INFORMATION
Specify pine or smooth grain for painting and pine or oak grade for staining
• When ordering HALF CIRCLE radius casing, measure the distance across the opening at the widest point This is the diameter of the circle (see diagram) To check if you are ordering for a true half circle, measure the height (see diagram) The radius (height) dimension should be one half the length of the diameter Specify either dimension on your order • When ordering ARCHES OR ARCS (also called eyebrows or sectionals), measure the rise and width of the arc (see diagram) Specify the dimensions when ordering Templates must be furnished when ordering elliptical and oval casings • When ordering CROWN, BASE MOULDING, CHAIRRAIL, AND CORNICE MOULDINGS, please specify the following: Radius of the wall the moulding will be installed on; whether the radius is a convex or concave curve; which edge of the moulding follows the wall; and the lineal footage of the material needed To obtain these measurements, refer to diagram for example • Please refer to the detailed installation and finishing instructions enclosed in each Resinart box.
